SPORTS RELIEF 2018 - GREAT FUN!
27th April 2018
On Friday the 23rd of March, Wheatfields Primary School held a sponsored run to raise money for Sports Relief. The money that was raised will go to help disadvantaged people within the UK and Africa.
The Year 6 Young Leaders worked very hard preparing for this special day so they would like to thank all the parents for supporting this amazing event.
The staff were very impressed with how well the Young Leaders did with leading warm ups, running with the children and explaining what was going to happen. Every child in the school took part and really enjoyed the experience. Special mention to Megan who completed several laps of the playground in her wheelchair.
Children aged 4 to 11 years old were involved in this run and everyone tried their hardest to push themselves to the limits. Most people found it hard to keep running whilst others enjoyed it.
Maya, a member of the Young Leadership Team, said it was an amazing experience, she had never planned anything as big as that before and she would like to do it again! Katie, who ran with the group, was quoted as saying “ I loved how we could run around the field wild.”
The children raised £1751.74 which is incredible!!
WELL DONE EVERYONE, YOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF YOURSELVES!
