DUXFORD IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM TRIP - YEAR 5

10th November 2016
CLASS 11 REPORT:

On the 18 October, Year 5 went to the amazing Duxford Imperial War Museum.  When we got there, we went to put our lunch in the school room and the teachers told us what we were doing.

When we went to Hanger 4 we saw an Anderson Shelter which we could look in - it was really cool!  In Hanger 5 we found Concorde.  "Climb aboard Concorde!" said Class 11, which is a plane and we all got to see the inside and what it was like.

Also we went to Hanger 8 and learnt lots about the Forgotten War and the fighting which took place in the jungle in Burma against the Japanese.  While we were there, we also learnt all about Montgomery, an important General who had a caravan as an office and also his own map caravan too.

Did you know, the Spitfire was less used than the Hawker Hurricane and the Lancaster Bomber was used way more towards the end of the War?

CLASS 12 REPORT:

Year 5 soaring through Duxford Imperial War Museum!

On Tuesday 18 October Wheatfield's Year 5 took an outing to Duxford Imperial War Museum.  We went to discover more about our World War 2 topic and help to bring it to life.  We saw different planes including Spitfires, which were flying through the sky while Year 5 were walking around the site!

We all had a great experience and hope to go again soon.
