EYFS VISIT TO GULLIVER'S DINOSAUR AND FARM PARK
6th June 2017
On Tuesday 6th June Reception children from Wheatfields Primary School went to Gulliver's Dinosaur Land and Farm Park in Milton Keynes. The visit was an excellent way to start off our topic of 'Dinosaurs' and to get the children enthused about their learning to follow. We set off in the morning from St. Ives with a coach and minibus and braved the weather as it was pouring with rain!
Once there we split into different groups and ventured off to explore the park and to do some activities. The children had the opportunity to partake in a variety of activities including cooking, slime making and digging for fossils.
After lunch we were able to explore the park and discover all the different dinosaurs that were peeping and creeping behind every tree and bush. We took a guided boat ride around the park where we were able to learn about the different dinosaurs and their distinctive characteristics. Luckily by this time the weather had improved which enabled us all to view the park from above in the trees up in the ‘Observation Tower’.
Towards the end of our day the children enjoyed looking around the farm attached to the park and came up close to a variety of different animals. The wet weather didn’t dampen our spirits and all the pupils and staff had a thoroughly enjoyable day!
