Where can I find my child’s work?

Go to Wheatfields Primary School website and look for the "School Closure and Home Learning" tab along the top of the menu. Here you will find the "Year Group Homework" subsection where you will see all year groups and the weeks learning split out for you to find easily.

What is the normal structure of the day?

Teachers have put together a suggested timetable of subjects and activities to support our parents and carers in providing a similar structure for their children whilst learning at home.

Most children work best in the mornings, after breakfast when their brains are more awake and likely to take learning in. For this reason we would recommend doing the bulk of Phonics, English and Maths learning in the morning, and use the afternoon to get stuck in to Foundation Subject topics or outdoor learning such as a PE lesson, nature walk or mindfulness activities.

My child says they have finished all the work. What do I do now?

Class Teachers have set learning which should occupy children for the full school week, including outdoor activities and health and fitness routines.

We would always encourage children to read when they have spare time, and that you will read with and to them as per the School’s policy on Home Learning. Questioning around the book that they are reading always helps support a deeper level of understanding, including identifying and explaining any new vocabulary.

Links to many online learning platforms are available under the following tabs of the school website:

  • “School Closure - Home Learning and Information” Tab

  • “Parent Pages” Tab, see “Home Learning Programmes” section

In these areas you will find a number of activities suitable for your child. In addition, during this period of mandatory closure, the BBC is looking to provide educational learning platforms on the iPlayer and Red Button.

The learning activities on our website will be updated on a week by week basis so there will always be new activities for your child to do each day.

What do I do if I have a question about the learning that has been set?

Although the School is closed to the majority of pupils, teachers who are well and able are still working during the usual term time hours. To contact a class teacher please email them directly - all class email addresses can now be found in the "INTRODUCTION" subsection under this "SCHOOL CLOSURE AND HOME LEARNING" tab of our website.  Or use this link to find the list:
