11th January 2018

On Thursday 11th January, after months of anticipation, the Singing Starz finally set off to sing at the Birmingham Genting Arena to perform in the Young Voices Concert! Young Voices is the world’s largest school choir concert; we performed with about 6000 other children as a single choir to a capacity audience of family and friends. Being a part of YV provides children with the opportunity to perform in some of the world’s greatest arenas alongside incredible artists. Singing at such an event helps their self-belief, self-motivation, confidence and ability to communicate as part of a team - which is invaluable!

The concert was the culmination of a lot of hard work from the children. They had many words to learn as well as actions for some of the songs. We were thrilled to be performing alongside amazing artists Natalie Williams, The M4gnets and 16 year old Alfie Sheard – a name to watch out for in the future!

This is what the children thought about it:

‘It was a magical experience and a moment to remember.’ Gerrard

‘It was ginormous and amazing singing there.’ Joana

‘It was amazing! The lights, performers and schools were amazing. I loved it when we all did the actions.’ Megan

‘The torches created an atmosphere and lit up the mood.’ Holly

‘It was an unforgettable moment.’ Maya

‘It was the best experience of my life!’ Angie

‘It was totally wicked; definitely a night that I will always remember.’ Libby

‘It was an amazing trip. I sang lots of amazing songs.’ Erin

‘It was the best time of my life. I’ve never done anything like it!’ Freddie

‘It was epic! I want to go again!’ Courtney

‘It was great! I loved it!’ Isabella
