Rotary Club Young Photographer Winners!

29th April 2021

Background Information:

The Young Photographer Competition is a well-established and successful competition organised and promoted by Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (Rotary GB&I). The competition aims to encourage young people to:

  • experiment with photography

  • use digital and/or traditional methods of photography

  • demonstrate interpretation of the topic

  • express ideas through the medium of photography

There are three stages of the Competition; Local Heats, District 1070 Competition and the National Final. The task was to produce a portfolio of three photographs based upon the theme, ‘Wild Nature’ in colour or black and white. The photos must be submitted individually. Each photo should be no larger than A4 size. Mobile Phones may be used in addition to cameras.

Wheatfields Winners!.....

Our very creative and eager Year 5 children participated in this competition. We are very proud to announce that Alfie, Molly and Milo are the winners of the local heats. Well done to the three winners!

In addition, Milo has been selected for the District level, fingers crossed for him!

The children have taken the initiative with this - they have taken the photos and emailed them to the Rotary club themselves. This is a life-long skill that we encourage in Year 5.
