LATEST NEWS FROM PAWS

CHRISTMAS FAIR POSTER COMPETITION (PAWS news 07.11.2024)

It might seem a little early to mention Christmas but the PAWS Christmas Fair will be on Friday 6th December, and we would like some help from the pupils!

We will be running a poster competition giving pupils the chance to win a golden ticket for a free turn on all of the PAWS stalls!

The posters should be bold, colourful and must contain all the relevant information. You can create your own template or use the one attached. Teachers will have some copies available, so please ask for one if your child is interested in helping us advertise our event.

PAWS AGM - **NEW DATE** - JOIN US ON TUESDAY 26 NOVEMBER 2024 AT 7PM

The PAWS AGM has been postponed so will NOT be going ahead tonight (Tuesday 22 October) as originally planned.

The new date will be Tuesday 26th November at 7pm. You will be able to join us at the school or over zoom for the meeting and it will be your chance to see the new playground designs and have your say.

We are still looking for an assistant treasurer, to provide admin support. No experience is necessary as training will be given. If you know anyone who is interested and would like to find out more, they can contact us as Pawscommittee@gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing you on 26th November.   PAWS 🐾

PAWS will be holding our annual AGM on Tuesday 26th November at 7pm. It would be great to see you there!

Parents at Wheatfields School (PAWS) are the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for the school. As a group of parents, carers or staff at the school, we put on events to raise money to enhance the education and experience for the pupils. The AGM is an open event so if you’re available to come along and find out how your generous donations help benefit the school and children it would be great to see you there! Plus we will be discussing our exciting plans for this academic year, which also includes a first peep at the designs for the new playground equipment.

At the AGM we will be electing our committee, if you would like to be part of PAWS and become officially part of the committee, this is a great chance to do so. There is also an exciting opportunity to become a vice treasurer. The role will be providing support to our current treasurer, including applying for grant applications, so no accounting or treasurer experience is necessary as training and full support will be provided.

Please find attached the notice and agenda for this years meetings and the minutes of the last AGM.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday 22nd October and you can join over zoom. The link to join over zoom (we are looking to also hold in person and will update on this shortly!) the zoom meeting invite will be sent out closer to the time.

Anyone is welcome to pop by to any of the PAWS meetings, even if there’s just one particular event you could spare time to help during the event or to set up/clear at the end. Or whether you would like to be contacted to help out on each event without being on the committee, any help is so hugely appreciated so we can bring many more great events!

PAWS has several fantastic events coming up over this term so please keep an eye for more information via emails and class Dojo.

Thank you all for your ongoing support and we hope to see you at the AGM.

Kind regards,

Nicole Davies and Stacey Roe - Co-chairs, PAWS Committee

FUNDRAISING WITH ASDA

PAWS has signed up to a new and exciting easy fundraising scheme with ASDA. This is a limited time scheme, running until 30 November, where PAWS will receive 0.5% of the value of your shop, every time you shop at ASDA. All you need to do is follow the instructions below to register.

In addition to this every time somebody opts-in to support our Wheatfields, Asda will give an additional £1 to the school Cashpot. So even if you don't shop as ASDA, you can opt-in to help raise money.

We have been busy getting quotes and designs for our new playground equipment, so every penny counts to help us get something really exciting for the children to play on. So if you shop at ASDA please do take a look below.  It’s as easy as 1,2,3:
