Art and Design at Wheatfields provides opportunities for children to express themselves creatively. Teaching staff strive to make their learning fun, exciting and challenging.
Children are encouraged to think imaginatively and the progressive program of study supports their development of key skills in drawing and painting. We focus on the following:
- Pattern, shape and texture
- Portraiture
- Observational drawing
- Landscapes
Another important part of learning at Wheatfields, is to learn about art history and the styles of artists and the knowledge that these artists belong to Art Movements.
The art curriculum follows an A and B Cycle of progressive planning.
We will be implementing a progressive 3D Art and Sculpture scheme of work very soon.
