Gallery Trail Summer Sticker Book! Discover a different gallery trail each week from Thursday 24th July to Saturday 30th August – complete each week to earn a variety of stickers to fill your summer sticker book – free!
Craft Packs: Celebrate Summer with Our Special Craft Pack Offer! From Thursday 24th July to Saturday 30th August, we're offering a fun-filled summer deal: pick up any craft pack in our museum shop for just £4 each – or two for £7! Whether you're in the mood to create a beautiful dream catcher or build a buzzing bug hotel, there's something for everyone to enjoy. But hurry – stock is limited, so don’t miss your chance to grab yours before they’re gone!
Wild Weaving - Family Workshops with Zena Brackenbury: Friday 1st August – 2x workshops: 10:30am to 12pm and 1:30pm to 3pm. Come and explore the art of wild weaving! In these fun, hands-on workshops, children and their adults will weave together, using found branches and twigs as mini-looms, along with recycled yarn and even hair grips as makeshift needles! Discover the calming, ancient craft of weaving and take home your own mini masterpiece. £20.00 for two at a table, £28.00 for three at a table, £35.00 for four at a table. Tickets numbers include adults - making their own creations! (There must be at least one adult per table). Aimed at children aged 8 years and up

Mud and Mammoths: Family Story Time and Crafts - Tuesday 5th August, 10:30am to 11:30am. Step into the world of Oscar and Arabella, the delightful woolly mammoths created by Neal Layton. Enjoy story time with these marvellous mammoth tales and handle a real mammoth tusk and tooth. Make your own woolly mammoth puppet and create muddy mammoth art using sticks and mud. Search for mammoths and explore more books and games in the museum garden. £7.50 for 1 child, £14.00 for 2 children, £19.50 for 3 children. Aimed at children aged 3+ but everyone is welcome. One accompanying adult to every three children required

Fenland Wildlife Sculptures - Family Workshops with Zena Brackenbury: Friday 15th August – 2x workshops: 10:30am to 12pm and 1:30pm to 3pm. Explore fenland wildlife through sculpture! Create 3D animals, birds, and plants using natural and recycled materials like twigs, small branches, cardboard, and plenty of imagination. Take home your creation and celebrate the wild side of the Fens! £20.00 for two at a table, £28.00 for three at a table, £35.00 for four at a table. Summer on the Ouse! Family River Fun Day at the Norris Museum, Holt Island and the St Ives Methodist Church. Tuesday 19th August, 11am to 3pm, Free to drop in! Refreshments available at the Methodist Church. Join us for a day of river-themed fun as we celebrate our beloved local river, the Great Ouse! Enjoy storytelling sessions throughout the day with the wonderful Marion Leeper, get creative with river-inspired crafts, follow exciting trails, learn more about local nature and conservation with the Wildlife Trust, and help build a giant junk-modelled Ouse Monster in the museum garden. Collect your free activity passport and earn a stamp from each venue to earn a prize! Take to the water with special river trips offered by the St Ives Electric Boat Company, departing from The Waits. These boat trips will last about 30 minutes trips and are £6 per an adult and £3 per a child – tickets will be on sale from The Norris Museum on the day.
Magic Wishing Sticks: Family Workshops with Ricki Outis: Friday 29th August – 2x Workshops: 9:45am to 12:15pm and 1pm to 3:30pm. If you had 3 wishes... what would they be? Come along to our fun family workshop and make your own Magic Wishing Stick. Choose a stick and give it magical properties by wrapping your hopes and dreams around it with colourful threads. Then, add beads and other decorations to make it into a truly personal treasure that holds all the best things for your future! £12 for one child, £22 for two children, £30 for three children. Aimed at children aged 6 years and up (with their adults also making their own wishing sticks!)

The staff here aim to welcome children from the very earliest months, helping parents and carers to support them as they grow and learn. We try to provide a range of activities, programmes and initiatives which introduce and extend the library experience for children.
